A few words. Just a few words about the incredibly talented Emily Jane White. There is an elegance to her voice. A sadness that is so similar it touches us all.Through it all there is a resonance of such a mature voice that it transcends everything prior to this moment. So there I was last night, at the end of a combative day with the universe, its people, its roadways, pissed off and needing a break from the trivial and wanting to be uplifted to something totally outside of myself.
Luckily, I was at the Hotel Cafe and was taken on a much needed escape through the beautiful acoustic story telling of Emily. There were far too few people to see Emily sing last night but this will change as word of her amazing talent begins to be heard louder and louder. Standing there and peeling off the layers of the day that had weighed me down, I thought about how being part of this show was about something larger. The lucky ones in attendance were witnessing one of the great voices of this generation serenade us. Emily's music is divinely inspired with a voice that will carry her sounds across this world leaving all those feeling blessed to have seen her live and so thankful for the experience. Tour Dates:

Simple and simply good. Jeremy Jay put up a new track from his just released album "Splash" and its rad. Grab it and share it with your friends. Jeremy Jay will be on tour in the US starting June 16th!
Funny thing happened to this group of friends. They made a stellar album. True Womanhood is the wonderful trio of Thomas Redmond, Melissa Beattie and Noam Elsner. Their debut EP, Basement Membranes is on the Baltimore label Environmental Aesthetics. Although a newbie, the trio creates a powerful, haunting and hollowing sense of vocals and psych-pop delights that has me wondering if this is the next Radiohead!? Why the comparison, because when it is so good, it defies it all the BS that comes along with comparisons and it makes you think of the great ones that came before. I am just saying...greatness like that other band recently mentioned had to start somewhere and this band is on its way. Drop everything and listen to True Womanhood.
Brooklyn based trio are sampling fools and armed with techno gadgetry and a bizarre vision for electro-psychedelic dance music. Keepaway shows the limitless possibilities of what three freaks can do to make ear-pulsating, genre-bending music. The music will have you on an inspired sound journey. Luving it right now, so check it out!
Slow Trucks is a three piece from San Francisco. They are touring right now with a new EP called “Sometimes Friends Fight”. Their band dynamic reminds me a lot of Dinosaur Jr. A completely solid rhythm section, solid drums and bass lines, and as a whole the band is completely together. They have a sort of 1990’s lo-fi indie rock sound and their songs are straightforward, dynamic, and not to mention quite loud, with pretty vocal melodies and the guitarist knowing just the right times to let loose on the guitar. Seeing the band play live was a treat. Just the shear volume was impressive for a band of three. They were completely together musically, and they played a great show. They are on tour right now all down the West Coast.
