This is my Anti-V day card to all of you! When I think about all the dumb stuff people spend money on for this silly hallmark day to so show someone they care it really makes me laugh (and gag).

At the same time I realize how simple it is to show just how wonderful you think that person is that you are trying to impress with a little style and flavor all your own.

So this year, forget dumb iPhone apps that will have a baby rap a jingle for you, personalized koozies and forget the flowers she knew she was going to get. Throw away the chocolates, lingerie or editable underwear. Forget the overly priced, overly hyped V-day dinners with undercooked food that restaurants will serve from the east coast to the left coast and definitely forget about wishing someone special anything worthwhile on your facebook status or twitter feed.

Give the gift of music. I do not care if your special one this year is your imaginary lover, your therapist, your friendly neighborhood hobo you bum smokes off when your friends aren’t looking, your sister, rabbi or someone in the cubicle next to you have a crush on. Live simply, carry a loud message of appreciation and have someone experience something they typically do not.Whether it be making them a mix tape, taking them to a live show, making them a Pandora station or just playing them a song they would never have heard, just do it with music and make it stand out.

Show some creativity and give the gift that keeps on giving—music. Trust us when we say all that other BS will fade but the memories of experiencing something so personally will not. You surely will be appreciated and ravaged as whomever you tried to impress thanks you over and over again for being so creative!
