Nuclear Power Pants makes music that is aurally stimulating and haunting at the same time. When I listen to this rad bunch of misfits from Baltimore, MD, I picture the inner workings of my mind melting, loosening its own grip, shedding its limitations and swimming towards its inevitable freedom. Sonic Freedom! The right side and the left side are at war with each other, with my body in a totally relaxed, almost catatonic stance where I am bonding with my own inner being, as if on some lsd  where sounds blend together in a ridiculous swirl of beautiful screeching experimental rock sounds. They have their debut album “Wicked Eats the Warrior” that drops on September 28th and I highly recommend it. Take a chance and be inspired as I was.

While her musical imprint and recordings can be traced to sometime in 2008, Lia Ices, is another dynamic, bear your soul, caress my inner being amazing singer who is pushing herself into the conversation of great female performers popping up all around us in 2010. Her sounds, mesmerizing, avant and folk are simply pure perfection. Her music is a rad sonic celebration and needs to be heard. She has an upcoming album so be on the look out for details. A while back, I mentioned Revolver, the hip three piece from France. In my praise for them, I must have sounded like an overjoyed groupie. But for those lucky of us to be in Los Angeles, Revolver will have their debut performance in the US in support of the album, “Music for a While.” They will be performing at the  OohLaLA Festival Friday, October 1st, 2010 along with The Bewitched Hands on The Top of Our Heads at Club Spaceland for a night of incredible, inspired French Music. This is one show that is not to be missed!
