Electrifying. Dynamic. Energetic. Killer. Powerful. Talented. Determined. Playful.Gifted. And overall bad asses. I guess you get what I am trying to say, the Vivian Girls, Brooklyn’s own graced our city the other night and blew away the audience at The Echo.
On a tour that luckily brought their sounds to the west coast, an eagerly and hyped up crowd waited for these girls to take the stage. And of course, when you build up something so much in your mind, you could be disappointed. But not tonight as the Vivian Girls delivered a set that will leave LA abuzz for a quite a while.
We rarely mention a band twice on this site, but after having seen them perform a few months back on the east coast, you can imagine how excited we were to have them in Los Angeles. In a nutshell, you have a pint sized singer that will dazzle you, a bassist that can drink beer while playing and a drummer that will bash the drums into submission and when you combine it all together, the girls make take it back, free yourself, bone crushing music that could bring you back from the dead. Their performances are inspiring. They are as one when they perform on stage and will light a fire under you to riot or mosh or simply to let loose…and yes all are good options!
I was spoiled by this magnificent performance. I will probably will not be able to go to a show for a while since these girls set the bar so high. If you are not listening to the Vivian Girls, get on it.
