Seriously, a relapse into a time past can be a daunting thing. Any attempt to recreate a sound from the past can be really tricky. It can open up a band to a lot, have we not heard this before? They can be labeled copy cats and so much worse. It can also let a band do something so charmingly well, so wonderfully spirited, that it makes you wonder if the band simply channeled some ridiculously past karmic force or was actually part of the past era and now transported itself on some weird underground music sonic jet pack to the present.

Gigi, whatever their time traveling schedule lately, taps into a cleverly crafted throwback of sweet 60′s pop worthy of an appearance on Dick Clark’s American Bandstand. Not merely a copy cat, Gigi captures a sentimental journey into an era that continues to inspire so many people and captures the truest vibe of that part so sweetly and perfectly, we just cant get enough!
Gigi is Nick Krgovich (No Kids/Piano) and producer Colin Stewart (Black Mountain, Destroyer) and the music here is from their upcoming release “Maintenant” that drops in February!
